Today's rambling: Lock your doors!

The current mood of Berry at www.imood.com

If you ever find out that I'm in your neighborhood, make sure you keep your doors locked. Because I just might barge into your home.

Today, I had to wander down to a set of apartments to deliver invitations for our Phi Sig Pi social. I knew the complex I had to go to, but I wasn't sure which building exactly. The first building I tried was one too far, so I went to the one right before it. The door on the side didn't have a handle on it, so I assumed I couldn't get in. Wandering to the end of the building, I saw a sidewalk leading up to the door. So I turned the knob and pushed the door open.

And promptly found myself in someone's living room.

Two girls sitting on the couch looked at me in an understandably surprised fashion.

"I...um...I thought this was the main door...I, uh...Where's Apartment D?" I stuttered. One of the girls told me where to go--that door on the side with no handle PUSHES open--and thankfully, they were both really cool about it. I apologized profusely for just barging in on them, and then I hastily retreated.

On the logical side, what the heck were they doing with their front door unlocked? I was still quite embarrassed, though. But I can't help laughing at what they must have thought as they saw their door opening and some strange person poking her head in...

I was so sick to my stomach last night after our activity. I tried sleeping, but kept waking up to run to the bathroom. By that point, it was 3 am and I was not only having stomach pains, but was also feeling feverish. My face was flushed, but I kept shivering until after I'd been under the covers for a little while. So I turned off my alarm and decided to skip classes yet again. Of course, today I felt fine again. What the heck was last night all about, then? I'm tired of feeling so worn out all the time. I'm sure those 3 hours of running from one side of town to the other (in 30-degree weather) didn't do anything good for me. Actually, after eating dinner with Kristen tonight, I'm feeling kind of sick on my stomach again. Greeeeaaaaat. :

On the plus side, I saw Becky and Amanda C (two other initiates) at the snack bar, and we stood there and chatted for a few minutes. It's the first time I've actually seen them outside of our activities, and for whatever reason I thought it was so cool to get to talk to them. We've all gotten so close over the past few weeks, and some of these girls are people I don't think I ever would have attempted to befriend had it not been for this. They're the really exuberant sorts that wouldn't really notice me otherwise, but now that they know who I am, I think they genuinely like me...and of course I like them too, hehe! The only thing that's kept me from wanting to quit is the fact that I honestly like the people in this fraternity. In the sorority, the only person I liked was Amanda...and that's because I'd been friends with her before! The rest I couldn't care less about. But I definitely get along with these folks, and that's why I'm sticking through all the crappy initiation things. Once these 6 weeks are over with (and there are only 2 more left!), I won't have to worry about being out 'til midnight every night.

Speaking of all that, though, it's time for me to traipse off to the library for study hours! Our activity is indoors tonight, thank goodness!
