Today's rambling: Well-needed distraction

while feeling a bit
The current mood of Berry at www.imood.com

Last night was definitely needed. I'd dozed off while flopped on my bed, and a little after 8 o'clock, Lauren called. I went over to Ralston and hung out with Kevin, Lauren and her roommate Amanda, and Josh. There were two other girls there as well, but I didn't know them and they left as soon as "The Secret Garden" was over, so it's not as if they were there all that long.

The rest of us ended up making ourselves comfortable on the two beds (Kevin's roommate had moved out, so we had the room to ourselves), and we just talked and talked and talked for hours. I think Lauren is a little too melodramatic, but she's still nice. She exaggerates being really freaked out when Kevin does his "Neville Craven" voice (that's who he played in "The Secret Garden"), and at times I just wanted to roll my eyes. But all in all, they're a really great bunch and I'm glad I got to hang out with them. By the time it got to about 3 am, everyone decided to just sleep over, but I'm not really comfortable sleeping away from my own bed so I said I had to go back. Actually, I'd left my laptop on, so I really did need to go back because I don't like leaving this thing on for so long.

Since the residence halls have an escort policy, Kevin had to walk me down to the front doors. I felt kinda bad about that, since he'd just changed, but he didn't seem to mind. We stood down there and talked for another 10 minutes...Every so often we'd be like, "Well, have a good night" and stuff, but then one of us would bring up another subject and we'd keep talking. That's what happened the day I talked with him for over an hour without realizing it. :P After awhile, though, I finally said, "Okay, I'm going now," and we went our separate ways.

I think today, after Lauren and Amanda help Kevin move into his new room (There was a "Consolidation Meeting" a few days ago, and since he didn't have enough credit hours accumulated to stay where he was, he has to move), we're all going to Walmart. I hope so, anyway. I'm tired of being cooped up in my room. I'm hungry, too; maybe I should wander down to Chandler. I just hate eating alone!

After I got up today, I went and took a shower. Since Kristen was out with her boyfriend (who came up to visit today), I figured I'd be safe enough to just wear my bathrobe to and from the bathroom. Hehe! I was clomping back up the hall, showered and clad in my bathrobe, when I noticed that the door to my room was open. And there was a male voice floating out from inside. Kristen and her boyfriend were sitting inside at her computer! I paused outside the door for a few moments, wondering what I could do...then when I realized that there WASN'T anything I could do, I just shuffled in, laughed, and made a joke about walking in with my bathrobe. Kristen apologized profusely and said that they'd both leave if I wanted to get dressed, but I told them that I'd be fine going back to the bathroom.

It all turned out fine, but it was a leetle embarrassing. I think I made her boyfriend uncomfortable too, hehe...

Anyway, I guess that's all. I should go work on my Writing assignment, but as happened with the last one, I'm really not motivated to do anything with it. I did, at least, read all 7 essays that we're supposed to respond to! I just haven't gotten to the actual responding part. :P
