Today's rambling: Ramble on

while feeling a bit
The current mood of Berry at www.imood.com

Oops. I got caught sleeping the day away, lol! The phone rang this afternoon, and it was Geoff, but Mom was the one who answered. She didn't say anything odd after answering, so I didn't figure it was Geoff (because he always says really random stuff that she plays along with), but then she walked into my room and handed the phone over. And he teased me quite a bit for still having been in bed. But hey, I'm not ashamed. ;)

He and Tim got a new computer, from Dell. I guess Dell has this special right now where you can get a certain computer (probably the type that's getting replaced by something newer), and it's only $499. The commercial I saw had a free flat panel monitor upgrade, but they ordered theirs before that particular deal. DEAL! That's the word I'd been looking for when I typed 'special' instead! I hate it when words just slip out of your head, especially when they're simple words like that! But anyway...Geoff and Tim's freebie happened to be a printer. But not just ANY printer. Oh no, they got a scanner/printer/fax combo! These are the two guys who really don't use the Internet for anything more than chatting with a couple of friends/family, instigating trouble in chat rooms, and probably looking at porn. And they've got this swanky little scanner/printer combo, which I'm sure they'll use, but...still! I want one! XP

They also got a CD burner with it. More jealousy. Yeah, I have one, but it's an external drive, so any time I want to burn CDs I have to go drag out the box, hook all the cords up, etc. and it's just enough work that I tend to get lazy and not feel like doing it. :P So if I actually had the burner right there in the computer, it would totally be catering to my lazy nature! *laughs* Okay, I know I don't technically need one built in. I just like technological gadgets, and seeing people with things more svelte than mine makes me all aquiver with longing, hehehe...

Anyway, Geoff had called to ask my help with something AOL related, but I was getting confused, not being there to see what he was talking about, so in the end he had to figure it out on his own anyway. :P I don't actually know a lot about the internal workings of computers or programs, so if something goes wrong then I just blindly poke around until I find a solution...though if it's a hardware problem, then I leave it to the 'experts' since I have NO idea about any of that!

At the end of the conversation, he was like, "So when do you want to do something again?" I hadn't really expected him to ask, since I think he got a little irritated with me on Saturday night...and then he had to drive me all the way back home at 3 am and didn't get to sleep until after 5. I don't envy him having to drive such a long way just to drop me off...yet another reason for me to have a car! But anyway, he suggested either Tuesday evening or Wednesday. I said I had to go to the flower show with Mom on Wednesday, so at first he was like, "Okay, Thursday then", but a couple minutes later, he was like, "So, Tuesday evening, then?"

He just can't get enough of me. But then again, who can?

I very nearly asked Mom tonight if I could take the car to go out to Walmart and pick up some stuff. But she was sleeping (she has an incredibly effed-up work schedule), so I didn't want to bother her. And I was afraid she'd say no anyway, since she's still rather overprotective of me when it comes to driving. And then later I remembered that Charlie had told her to take his Blazer in case it snowed more than forecasted, so I couldn't have gone anyway (since he had her car). Bleh. Maybe I'll force Geoff to trail me around Walmart tomorrow. It would give us something to do, other than sit around and watch TV. And besides that, we probably ought to stick up around this area, since I can't be out too late anyway. I'd have just told him to wait until Thursday, but he's the only relief I can find from boredom around this place. Sad, isn't it?

Alright, I'm going to go now. I'd go play N64, except I was a tool and left my controllers up at college. Maybe I'll work on a scrapbook page, even though I don't have my actual scrapbook here...lol, I'm so together, man!
