Today's rambling: String 'im up!

while feeling a bit
The current mood of Berry at www.imood.com

Guys can be well and truly horrid sometimes, can't they? After reading about Lola's escapades I feel like seeking out Grant, tying him up by his "manly" bits, and letting wild animals attack him. But nothing that could finish him off in one bite because honestly, where's the fun in that?

And he even insulted darling Strong Bad. *huffs* "Tired"...Nice to know the boy is so hip and on the edge that even some good-humored fun is too old for him. *rolls eyes*

Lola, does it ever strike you as terribly amusing that he smokes and drinks, yet is a vegetarian? Just seems sort of ironic.

Hitler was a vegetarian and a painter. Look what happened to him.

But enough about him. I don't want to think about the male population right now because they all make me angry at some point or another. We're going to dive into the world of Berry right now, since I haven't really written a diary entry since I got home. What I want to be doing is sleeping, but my computer was on and I thought, "What the heck? I'll go online for a couple of minutes." :P

Today, I sold my soul to Sprint and am now in possession of a most sleek, musical little cell phone. Thus, not only have I sold myself to Sprint, but I've also joined the ranks of cell phone owners. Y'know what amuses me, though? Several people I've talked to lament about how with cell phones, you can be found anywhere. Not really understanding where their vexation was coming from, I replied, "Well...you can always turn it off if you don't want to be found." *shakes head* Seriously, folks. It's not like you're strapping some kinda permanent locator to your ass or something. Rule the technology, don't let it rule you. Simple enough, don't you think? People crack me up sometimes.

After that purchase, I stopped at American Eagle where I bought 4 shirts and 5--yes, 5--pairs of cute underwear. Now, I know this is the most boring piece of info you could ever read. But a)ANY sort of clothes shopping for me is a complete nightmare, and b)Trying to find cute underclothes is even worse. The fact that all those shirts and the panties fit is amazing. I was put in such a good mood that it didn't even bother me that I have to return the pajama bottoms. It was a terrific thing!

Despite the fact that American Eagle is one of those stores that caters to the skinny population...I salute them. Their shirts rock my casbah.

That was all I bought. I couldn't find anything suitable to wear for my sorority initiation...because, as I'm sure you can guess, white clothes are horrendously ugly. And I have to be dressed in ALL white. This is going to be terrible. I'm going to look like a Fluffy Puff marshmallow. But I won't think about that. Not right now, anyway...

Hee hee...the guy at Radio Shack last night (when I first went to get a phone) tried to suggest Verizon to me. Not knowing that he was a subscriber to that service, I said quite vehemently, "Verizon sucks. You can't get any service from them out where I go to college." It wasn't until later that I found out about him owning a Verizon cell phone, and that just tickled me for some odd reason. No wonder he got this sort of dumbfounded expression when I spat out that declaration. :P As it turned out, the guy was incredibly stupid, and we ended up being told to come back the next day. Well, part of it was my fault, as I'd forgotten to bring my ID with me. But he told me that I couldn't pay the deposit with a credit card, and I had no other means of payment so we had to come back the next day. Since those folks get commission from their sales, he wrote down his Saturday hours and told us to come back then.

We came back around one o'clock this afternoon and dealt with someone else. :P Yes, I felt guilty about cheating him, but the guy was SOOOO stupid. And sort of pushy about things as well. The guy I ended up talking to couldn't hear very well (heh) but at least he knew what he was doing.

So yeah, there's my boring cell phone stuff. Oh...Except I got a CD-ROM with my phone that has a 3 1/2 minute intro from the Sprint Guy himself. At the end, I cried out "Why can't you come to MY neighborhood?" and Mom started laughing. :P

I tested my new toy tonight by calling up Tim (I knew Geoff wouldn't be at home)...and I hate to say this, but that guy is really starting to annoy me now. : He's still a really great person and all, for the most part, but after Atlantic City I haven't been able to tolerate him as well as I used to. I mean, before that I only ever saw him occasionally. Being around him for so long allowed me to see some of his other quirks, and I discovered that I didn't much care for them. He can get very "in your face" to people, and I didn't appreciate the way he was treating some of the casino employees. Geoff tried telling me that after awhile you just don't care anymore, but that's the whole problem with society (or one of them): we just don't care about being polite anymore. Maybe if we started being considerate again...but there I go getting all idealistic again.

Mom stopped by this little place that some friends of hers started up. She met them at the bar/restaurant just up the way from our apartment, and they're from Scotland. So they started up their own tavern-ish sort of thing, and it's ALWAYS packed! It was really cute, too. The best part was, they had this little group of guys playing...well, I guess it sounded Irish, but it's kind of amusing for Scottish people to be playing Irish music, heehee...Anyway, it reminded me of that scene in 'Titanic' (much as I loathe that movie) where Jack and Rose go below decks and dance with all the lower class folks. It was that sort of music, and I loved listening to it! It made me want to get up and start dancing (the only other type of music that makes me want to dance that badly is swing music), but I don't know how to do that kind of dancing, LOL!

So anyhoo, that was my day. And now I'm going to bed. :P
