Today's rambling: Stuff that ticks me off

I had a great big entry written out, and granted, it was nothing more than idle ramblings, but even so, it was almost finished! And what happened? My computer CRASHED on me! So instead of trying to remember what I'd written, I'm just going to talk about other stuff that really ticks me off. The following list is in no particular order!

Taxes on your paychecks. That could very well be my number one annoyance, but I won't give it that label because there might very well be even more evil out there! But how IRRITATING is it to get your paycheck, only to find that where once you had $360+ (gross pay), you now have only $230 after taxes were taken out? And really, what is all this money going toward? George Bushrat's further education? Okay, I guess that's a worthy cause because he's kind of...well, not the brightest crayon in the box. But even so, I don't like MY hard-earned money paying for stupid stuff! We have to pay for the government's poor spending...it really should be a voluntary thing. I'm sure there are PLENTY of generous, giving souls out there in America who wouldn't mind giving money to the government! But leave MY money ALONE!!!! I have to deal with a lot of nonsense to earn each and every cent! Moving on...

"Your" vs. "You're". *ignores the strange looks being sent her way* If there's one thing I can't stand when reading stories--or even reading through websites--it's people's misuse of those two words. "If your interested, then click here!" is only one example of how these two words are constantly mixed up by people. I can understand it happening every once in awhile, because EVERYONE makes mistakes. But there are some people who use "your" instead of "you're" constantly, and it annoys me!!!! Maybe it's because I've always liked writing and spelling so much...and I'm not much when it comes to grammar, but I don't think I'm THAT bad! So anybody reading this, make sure you remember these words: "Your" is POSSESSIVE! Like, "Oh, I'm sorry, your cat looks like a dustbunny!" And the word "You're" is a contraction of YOU and ARE, such as "You're going to clean that up, right?" Stop mixing them up!!!! Bleh...okay, next...

People who don't read rules and instructions. I run a roleplaying website, and there have been SO many people who submit bios and things but never read the rules for joining! I don't understand why people can't even spare the 5 minutes it would take to read through rules...they aren't THAT bad, y'know! And in the end, when you screw up because you didn't read them, you're only making yourself look like a total ass! So read the damn rules next time!!

People who purposely run over animals while driving. To everyone who does that, I wish that the next time it happens, a huge 18-wheeler comes out of nowhere and flattens you. (Well, it's true, but I don't know why I suddenly thought to put THAT there...)

Flamers. Actually, they can be pretty funny. No one should take these guys seriously, because I mean, they don't even have the courage to leave their real names and email addresses when they write their ignorant comments! "Ur page sux!!!!!" Yeah, THAT'S real creative, isn't it? I especially love it when people flame just because they don't like something the person said. For example, there was this girl on FanFiction.Net who was getting pissed at people because they weren't supporting her argument! So she started flaming them...and now I'm not so sure anyone even LIKES her anymore because of how immature she acted! *shakes her head slowly* That should be a new race or something...I can see them putting it on surveys: "Are you (please check one) - White, African American, Flamer..." *coughs* Sorry...next!

Spam. No, not the meat-in-a-can, though that stuff is gross, too. I'm talking about those mass emails we all get (and 99% of us hate). I already ranted about this subject in another entry, though, so I won't go through it again!

Genuardi's. They suck. What else can I say? Actually, I guess it's not so much THEM (it's a grocery store chain in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, btw)...it's more the company that bought them, Safeway. Yeah, I definitely HATE Safeway! They brought all these ideas of 'terrific customer service' to us, and yeah, customer service is all fine and dandy. But they kept SHOVING it down our throats! Every day I came in, and it was "Amber, what are we going to do today?" "Greet, Anticipate, and Take them to the item, Mr. Manager sir." Oh, and I can't forget Suggestive Saling! Bah! Who wants to come into a grocery store, go up to the sandwich shop counter for just ONE thing, and be asked "Would you like something to go with that? A salad, maybe? Some chips?"
"No, thank you."
"How about some fries? We have very good fries!"
"No, I'm fine. Really."
"Onion rings?"

Rude people. What happened to simple manners like, "Please, thank you" and "Excuse me"? Geez, you get slammed into by someone, and they don't even SAY their sorry or anything! They just keep walking along (sometimes they look at you as if YOU were the one who caused it all)...when I was growing up (and I'm only 19, so this isn't even all THAT long ago), my parents (and grandparents especially) would not let me have ANYTHING I asked for unless I said 'please'! I'm not saying that everyone's parents and grandparents should be manner drill sergeants, but enforcing good manners would be nice!!! I'm so tired of going out and being cut off by people, bumped into by people without an "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" to go with it...grr. I think I WILL go to that desert island. At least the natives will be better behaved!

My computer. It's crap. Enough said.

Writer's block. For an aspiring author, there's nothing worse! I have it right now, as a matter of fact. Two wonderful stories to work on, and I can't think of a single idea for either of them! *sigh* And I can't think of any good layout ideas for my website, either. This block is just bad news.

How could I forget...my dad. I won't go into that. He just pisses me off.

I think that's the end of my negative entry, though. Just think, all that was brought about because my computer crashed on me! Oh well, good therapy, getting out all my anger. Hehehe...sorry if I offended anyone, but...it's my diary, so I can say what I want. ;) Hey, at least it wasn't pornographic or anything! ;oP

Aww, I meant to include the Mario Bros. theme song thing I found the other day...I'll just put it in right here! Heh...you can turn it off if you really hate it, though if you haven't seen the Stop button until now, it really doesn't make any difference because you're about to leave anyway. *cackles* But if you were smart and scrolled to the bottom as soon as you heard the first strains of video game music, then here you go, press the Stop button! ;)
